Last week, Christmas came early for the ladies of Boston, as the TD Garden was filled with the sounds of R&B sensation, Usher and Mr. Passion, Pain & Pleasure, Trey Songz. Radio has been kind to both artists, with several singles from each in heavy, h eavy rotation - especially this year. Last Tuesday, the pair brought new energy to songs we've heard a million times. Refreshing the classics. (Can we call them classics yet? Too soon?)

Usher’s approach to this show was a mix of theatrics and dance, with a futuristic vibe. During his set, the big screen played a flashy montage of video clips from the past to present, reminding us of his staying power in the industry. Mr. Raymond has six studio albums under his belt, the last three, reaching number one on the charts. He's no stranger to arenas full of screaming fans and controlled the audience from high-flying beginning to end.

Trey Songz' 45-minute set ran thru his arsenal of fan favorites: "Neighbors Know My Name," "I Invented Sex," "Say Aah," "Bottoms Up," and I think I caught a little "Jupiter Love". 2010 has been a big year for Songz. Trey has supported two major tours (OMG and Jay-Z's BP3), headlined his own (with songstress Monica on the bill), was nominated for a Grammy award and has made various TV appearances throughout. Did you catch Trey Songz: My Moment on BET? You can watch all 10 full length episodes online!

On stage, Trey stands alongside four musicians. His band, The Trey Songz Experience (TSE), includes: Ralph 'Buttaz' Kearns on the keyboard, Nate Jones on bass, and Ricky 'Strings' Ramos on lead guitar and Antwan 'Amadeus' Thompson on drums. Being backed by a live band always add a liitle more soul, personality and depth to a performance and as expected, the TSE did just that. I highlighted Amadeus' work as music director and Vater Percussion artist earlier in the year on Jay-Z's tour, and was happy to catch up with him and his crew a second time.

In addition to touring non-stop with Trey AND being the most positive person on my Twitter feed, Amadeus is running things over at Platinum Boy Music. He has produced tracks for over 50 artists, most recently, a song off Keyshia Cole's newest album. His production company hosts numerous singers, music producers and song writers, with platinum success in their sights.
